Awards

Povijest Since LADO was founded, its successful performances have resulted in numerous awards and significant recognition. The first of these was in 1954, when LADO won first prize at the Llangollen International Festival in the United Kingdom. This was followed by honours being bestowed upon them in the cities of Santiago, Punta Arenas and Antofagasta, as well as letters of appreciation being given to them in Los Angeles and Frankfurt. They were given the key to the City of Cleveland and a Diploma from the Cork International Festival in the Republic of Ireland.

LADO has received plaques and awards from the City of Zagreb and other Croatian cities. In the last ten years or so, the Ensemble has received 22 Porin Awards, among which was the 2002 Porin Lifetime Achievement Award.

LADO also received an Orlando Award in 2003 for outstanding artistic accomplishment at the 54th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, and the Ivan Lukačić Award in 2004 for the highest achievement in performance at the 34th Varaždin Baroque Evenings. In 2002 LADO was Europe's representative at the 6th World Choir Singing Symposium in Minneapolis, USA and in 2000 LADO won a Golden Doruntina for outstanding folklore performance at the International Festival of Professional Folk Dance Groups in Albania. Last in a row of great recognitions was INA's 2006 Award for Advancement of Croatian Culture Internationally.

In 2009. LADO won The STATUS award given by the Croatian Musicians Union for a special contribution to Croatian music to mark 60 years of public artistic activity and the awarded Charter of the Croatian President. 2011th The Croatian President awarded the renowned LADO soloist Anđela Potočnik the Order of Croatian Danica with the image of Marko Marulić, and the Croatian Composers' Society awarded Božo Potočnik the Franjo Ksaver Kuhač award for lifetime achievement.

In 2011 LADO received a special Plate of Appreciation from Shanghai EXPO Bureau for performance at The World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
