Veronica - Folk-Ballet with Singing is a very special project of the LADO Ensemble. Beside its main activity of preserving and artistically performing Croatian traditional songs and dances, LADO often took part in musical and scenic productions (ballet, opera, movie films, etc) which contained some traditional elements. But for the first time a particular form of musical and scenic expression - a folk ballet with singing, named Veronica, has been brought to the stage. It relates a story based on a blend of historical fact and Croatian legend, which tells of the forbidden love between a nobleman and an ordinary young girl, a love which is destined to end in tragedy.

An outstanding partnership between the LADO Ensemble and one of Croatia's most interpreted contemporary composers, Davor Bobić, combined with the superb choreography of the prominent ballet master, Dinko Bogdanić, has resulted in the creation of this unique folk ballet with singing.s
